Our mission is to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and the mother.

Meetings:
All women who have an interest in breastfeeding are invited to attend LLL meetings. All mothers and their babies are accepted with open arms at meetings. Accredited LLL Leaders guide mother-to-mother sharing. Each mother is encouraged to take from La Leche League meetings what seems helpful to her.

No two meetings are exactly alike, since we are all growing in our understanding of child development, mothering and family life. As we share our knowledge of mothering through breastfeeding, we can all learn and support each other during this important time in the lives of our families.
Pregnant women may find it helpful to attend monthly meetings before the baby is due and/or to obtain a copy of our manual, THE WOMANLY ART OF BREASTFEEDING.
Lending Library:
Come visit one of our meetings and check out a book on breastfeeding or parenting. Our manual, THE WOMANLY ART OF BREASTFEEDING is available to check out.

Mother-to-Mother:
Your support enables us to continue offering LLL services in the Metro East. Donations help us to maintain our telephone leader list, this website, buy books for the library, and provide handouts at maternity fairs and our meetings. We are grateful for donations of any size. La Leche League is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Please contact a leader to provide mother-to-mother support through a donation.
About La Leche League:
La Leche League is a nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing information, encouragement and support to women who wish to breastfeed their babies. Our meetings are led by mothers who have happily and successfully breastfed their own children and have subsequently been accredited by La Leche League International. The breastfeeding information presented by La Leche League Leaders has been approved by the La Leche League International Medical Advisory Board, consisting of physicians and professionals recognized as experts in their field.
